Mid Summer Mix Prices

Butterfat is still the main influence on frozen dairy mix prices as we head into mid-summer. With the world demanding more butter in its diet and inventories somewhat tight, butter prices seem destined to push ice cream mix prices higher. However, non-fat dry milk prices continue to be a drag on the dairy market and, if they continue to do so, will help counterbalance butter’s efforts. The trend is still up and we’ll have to wait and see how this all plays out.
