Key dairy ingredient prices have been trending downward over the last few months. We have lowered our mix prices in both October and November. There has been one ingredient, eggs, whose price has skyrocketed since September. Our price for sugared egg yolks used in our custard mixes has gone from $1.02 per pound to $1.92 per pound (our most recent invoice), and we have little assurance that this will end soon. This type of increase will inhibit any downward price movement on custard mixes. Early indications for 2018 are that ingredient prices will be somewhat flat. We’ll know more in a couple of months.
