Butter has taken off like a rocket over the past few weeks, shattering last year’s record highs we were all hoping to forget. Although last week gave us a bit of hope that butter was going to start falling, it managed to make some gains this week giving us pause. Butterfat is at record levels right now and we are forced to raise dairy mix prices.
We realize these increases are a bit depressing, but it is worth noting that this same time last year mix prices were higher due to other inflationary costs. If historical behavior is any prediction of what is to come, we should see some relief in the coming weeks.
We thank you for your loyalty under these difficult circumstances.
