Dairy Mix Pricing Update – March 2025

March 2025 Dairy Mix Pricing Update

We often try to forecast dairy commodity prices so business owners can set pricing for the season, hoping for as few changes as possible.  Well, 2025 refuses to be boring and give us a consistent and flat commodity market. The good news is, dairy commodities are trending in the right direction, seasonally down, opposite of the past couple of years. This reversal is certainly welcome news and will benefit you with respect to mix prices.

For those purchasing mixes without eggs, you will most likely see a price Decrease.

On the other hand, we are still dealing with a persistent H5N1 bird flu that continues to wreak havoc on the entire poultry industry, and egg production. We appear to be past the fears of dairy herd infections, which may be why dairy prices are subsiding, but it has not stopped spreading throughout the country when it comes to chickens. This has put a significant strain on egg production, and in some cases the availability of eggs in the marketplace. This has resulted in unprecedented price increases, with no sign of abating anytime soon.

Unfortunately, for those purchasing custard products or mixes containing egg you will see an Increase. The drop in dairy ingredient prices certainly helps to offset these increases, but given the trajectory of egg prices, it is quickly overshadowed.

As always, thank you for your continued business and the privilege to serve you.

New prices will go into effect March 1st.
